Yoga Behind the Walls: A workshop on Healing & Service
Step into a deeply moving and uplifting experience with Jannette Parent and Stephanie Coy as they share the story of how their lives intersected within the walls of the Western Kentucky Correctional Center—the only women’s state prison in the region. From that unexpected meeting blossomed a shared mission: to use yoga as a pathway for healing, connection, and service.
In this workshop, Jannette and Stephanie will each explore trauma-informed yoga through two unique lenses—one from the perspective of teaching inside prison walls, and the other from lived experience. and open the floor for questions and conversation. They will each lead a short talk followed by a guided yoga practice. Together, they’ll explore how yoga can be a tool for service, resilience, and connection—especially within communities impacted by trauma.
