In this session, we'll focus on using the hoop as a tool for fostering serenity, poise, balance, and presence. The circle is a powerful symbol for the cyclic nature of the universe, and by positioning ourselves as the axis of our circles' rhythms, we can find our own centers. We'll look deeply into sustained spinning, explore blind-folded hooping, focus on breath and foot work while on-body hooping, and just have fun focusing our collective energy. We'll also discuss what metaphors and epiphanies each of us discovers through flow arts, and how these can be extrapolated in order to improve our lives and communities beyond our props.
